This is perhaps the most famous piece of Australian animation ever made. The original Aeroplane Jelly theatrical commercial from 1942. This was animated by Eric Porter who was known as the ‘Australian Walt Disney’, although he didn’t have nearly as much success as Disney did.

Ok, thanks for the spam post. Obviously the Aeroplane Jelly ad has been taken from Youtube, which has nothing to do with me, as I wasn’t the person who uploaded it. They may have taken it off because they wanted to, or it may have breached copyright and the copyright owner may have demanded that they take it down. Either way I don’t know why you would abuse me with you expletives and poor spelling. Sorry but I just don’t get people who don’t know how to use punctuation and think that everything that they write is a text message. By the way, you could get off your lazy fat arse and go to Youtube to look for the clip yourself. It’s a pretty sad reflection on kids today that they can’t even spell the ‘f’ word correctly.

  4. […] Other than the aforementioned article I have never read anything else about this cartoon series. I would love to view an episode or see some model sheets or sketches. Does any of the animation art from this series remain? Perhaps someone from Cadbury or GTV 9 or the animation studio who produced the series could shed some light on this. This is something that should be preserved as it is almost as ground breaking for Australian animation as Eric Porter’s Aeroplane Jelly commercials. […]
